Hello!
We are the Apostolou-Marava families. The land we cultivate on Mount Taygetus in Kalamata, Greece, has been owned by the family since the mid-19th century. We see it as our duty to continue the tradition of cultivating the land they left us. Back then, no vehicle could approach the region, and our great-grandparents would need days to get to the top of the mountain with their donkeys.
Our tea is manually harvested and naturally dried. It is cultivated at an altitude of 1,000 meters.
We use no pesticides or herbicides as we want our own children to play in the land and drink our tea.
Mountain tea has a floral, earthy, mild taste. Studies have found that it boosts the immune system as an anti-inflammatory. It also aids in digestion, and studies suggest it helps prevent osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia. In ancient times, the father of medicine, Hippocrates, used it as a medical herb.
